Três is the third book published by Nuno Ega; however, the choice of title goes beyond this coincidence. At the launch of the author's second book, O rapaz que não sabia enterrar tempestades, Antonio Sáez-Delgado described Nuno Ega’s poetry as melancholic at times, nostalgic on occasion, and frequently metaphysical. He spoke of it as poetry that seeks the essential, that mirrors the emotions of life, that speaks to us of memory as a house we all inhabit and from which we cannot escape.
Nuno Ega writes out of necessity—because words come to him and insist on being set free. He grows with those he ponders and understands himself better through those he puts on paper. In the conversation that unfolds between the reader and this book, emotions will emerge, and perhaps a new piece will be added to the house that is each of our lives. If that happens, then stepping into this book was worthwhile.
O rapaz que não sabia enterrar tempestades is Nuno Ega’s second poetry collection. Nuno Ega is the pen name of a university professor at the University of Évora. He was born in Mértola in 1964 and loves his homeland as children love the embrace of their parents. He lives in Évora. In 2017, he published his first book, A viagem do pano branco.
