The publisher Caminho das Palavras, in partnership with Portugal Agora, has just published the book Portugal Out Of The Box.
The next 10 years will most likely be the most transformative in the history of Humanity. A set of technological innovations are converging and reaching a level of development that will have a significant impact on our societies. Information and communication technologies will play a major role in this, and areas such as learning, healthcare, mobility, work and leisure, among many others, will be disrupted. In this context of complexity and uncertainty, we cannot plan in a linear manner, as we did in the past. Instead, we can think strategically, build scenarios, seize opportunities, and develop disruptive ideas with a strong (and positive) social impact in Portugal. We invited a group of Portuguese people to think and write about the future. In this book, with a forward-looking vision and a dose of creativity and innovation, we aim to describe trends and present disruptive solutions that make sense for the Portugal we want to build in the next decade.
