Livro "Uma Estranha no Alentejo"

During her three artistic residencies, as poet, in the center of Fundação Obras in Évoramonte, Gerry van der Linden fell in love with Alentejo and Portugal. In 2013 and 2014 she wrote poems about the cork oak in Alentejo, Borba and Evora fountains, Lisbon aqueducts, Gil Vicente (a famous portuguese playwrighter and poet), and so on. A selection of her latest anthology, “Stadswild”, published in 2014 in Netherlands by Nieuw Amsterdam Uitgevers, is entirely composed of some of these poems. During her residence in September 2014, Gerry van der Linden has dedicated herself to developing art with objects she has found. Luis Branco, Portuguese photographer, recorded this work, and some of these photographs can be found in this book. The objects and their images are not intended to illustrate the poems, but to establish an exciting interaction between them. All poems are the result of curiosity, research, the wonder and the beautifull experimentation of the simpler things. As creative complement, Luís Branco added some photos of his Alentejo series to Gerry van der Linden’s objects and poems.
